The event
Porsche Norge gathers the largest Porsche turnout in Norway at Rudskogen Motorsenter. Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia and Sprint Challenge ran on track, museum cars from Stuttgart were on display in the paddock, and visitors could test drive the Macan, Taycan and the new Cayenne Electric. Porsche Motorsport turned 75, and the whole festival ran under the theme RACEBORN.
A subdued weekend
Following the news of King Harald's passing, Porsche Norge adjusted the programme. Race of Stars was cancelled, parts of the schedule were removed and the festival was held in a quieter tone than planned. At 14:25 the entire venue observed a minute of silence. We followed the organiser's lead and ran the rigs without music and without announcements.
What we delivered
Three simulators in our own tent in the paddock. It was the first time we set up three rigs at once, and the first time we did it in Norway. Everything was included: transport, setup, queue system and operators on site all day. Two rigs were our usual triple screen configuration. The third was new.
The formula rig
The new rig uses a formula seating position, meaning a reclined position with the legs raised and the wheel close to the chest. It has belt tensioners that pull the harness tight under braking, so the body feels the deceleration instead of only seeing it. In the sim we ran a laser scanned copy of Rudskogen in Formula 4. Visitors were driving the circuit they were standing next to, in a class that belongs there. That was the rig people walked up to first.
Saturday
Saturday was the main day and the tent was full from opening to close. The queue sat at 90 minutes. Nobody had to stand in it. Visitors scanned a QR code, got their queue number on their phone and carried on to the racing, the test drives or the museum cars. The system called them back when it was their turn, and it held all day.

“A 90 minute queue is only a problem if people have to stand in it.”
